President: Zitian (Andy) Wang

Zitian (Andy) is a third-year PhD student in Bioinformatics at UCLA. His research interest is in utilizing multi-omics data to study about the sex-specific and obesity-related cellular mechanisms in fat tissue. During his free time, he enjoys playing video games and reading.

Vice President: Gülşah Akçakır

Gülşah is a 4th-year PhD candidate in Computational Communication at UCLA. Her research explores the drivers of collective intelligence, particularly the role of diversity in organizational and scientific teams, using mixed methods such as agent-based modeling, statistical analysis, and natural language processing. Outside of her research, she enjoys camping, playing tennis and spending time with her two seven-year-old cats.

Vice President: Swarali Ghodkhande

Swarali is a 4th year PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UCLA. Her research interest involves elemental separation using membrane technology, especially its application in zero-emission cement production. She enjoys cafe hopping, spending time with friends over board games, and working out during her free time.

Assistant Vice President: Kyla Gelev

Kyla is a third year PhD student in Human Genetics at UCLA. Her research focuses on using multi-omics approaches to study obesity and its comorbidities such as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease in visceral adipose tissue and the liver. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, going to concerts, and reading.

Assistant Vice President: Amy Le

Amy is a first-year PhD student in the Bioengineering Department at UCLA, where her research focuses on enhancing the detection of drug’s side effects through network modeling and applied machine learning methods. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, hiking, and spending time with friends. 

Assistant Vice President: Juliana Shin

Juliana is a third year PhD student in Human Genetics at UCLA. Her research focuses on integrating multi-omics datasets to study the mechanisms underlying sex differences in the brain. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and finding new cafes.
